EXCELLENT Based on 20 reviews Sean Dougan2023-11-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I needed a tooth extraction. My regular dentist was unable to get me in for a week, however the pain I was experiencing was too much. I resorted to calling 15 different dentist asking if there was anything they could do. Carriage Place and Dr Spencer brought me in within the hour of calling them and extracted the tooth. I could finally sleep and was pain free. The Dr made sure I really wanted this extraction. Explaining the permanency of it. And respected the wishes of the treatment I wanted. 5/5 for Availability, weighing all my options , and extracting the very stubborn tooth! Dr Burns could not stand the fact that I told him the filling that he did few years ago just crumbled. His assistant checked my tooth and started to laugh! I did not understand what could be funny in my mouth; other than a broken tooth! Dr. Burns was so annoyed that he had hard time to communicate with me. The day after I came back to take X-Ray and fill out few other teeth; the assistant even did not greet me. When I explained to Dr. Burns that I need some fillings; he was hesitant to take a look. He came up with the idea to shame me for "not brushing" my teeth! Which I did before my visit. He gave me a mirror in a condescending manner to see how bad I was with brushing my teeth; while looking at his assistant! I asked him if he is going to fill out my tooth and he said that there is no tooth needed filling. I reminded him that my tooth really needs a filling. He said that he forgot that specific one needs a filling and he might do it another time, not today! I asked him what is his suggestions for the tooth which went black due to metal filling. He came up with another idea to look down on me by belittling my insurance which won't cover a crown. I spent two days going to his office to fill few teeth but I got one filling, some X-Ray, one small touch up and so much disrespect! Treating vulnerable people with disrespect is not the best practice! I am glad that I have a choice not to go there anymore! I brought my nephew here for his appointment and I really appreciated the care and kindness Dr. Burns and his assistant showed him. I wish I had a dentist like him when I was a kid! He took the time to ensure that I did not feel any sort of nerve pain during my fillings. I've always had tooth problems, and my Dentist growing up was negligent when it came to considering his patients feelings -- he was very rough, and impersonal. I was a child, so I didn't speak up. As an adult, it has been such an eye-opener to have a Dentist who was actually concerned about my pain levels. I am encouraged to go back to the dentist each year to get my teeth checked! This wasn't the case for a very long time. If you have a child that is skittish about going to the Dentist, I highly suggest bringing them to Dr. Burns. He will take the time to talk things over with you and your child, and I imagine he will be very accommodating to your child's feelings/fears. Also -- they have chair massagers, which is an odd but welcomed addition to my dentist visits :) ... TL/DR: Dr. Burns prioritizes his patients' comfort levels and feelings of safety during visits.
